Antithesis Hour

Antithesis Hour

Tonight Phil Naessens and I(Michael J Loomis) jumped back in to The Antithesis Hour saddle again. Besides entertainment, the purpose of this program is to demonstrate that two people from opposing Theological positions can move beyond our differences and even have constructive conversations.

This program is not just another Theology based program. We will be covering a variety of topics.

Visit our website–>

Tonight we dealt with some spring cleaning/dirty laundry and talked a little bit about the future of this program.

Feel free to leave any comments below or questions for next weeks program. We will also be opening up the phone lines on the next program.

It really is wonderful to hear two men be so charitable and loving to one another while they lambast their common enemy. I look forward to more of the same…NOT.

You know Robin…This guy has gone too far. He has continually ignored requests and demands to cease contacting us. He’s even been threatened with legal action if he doesn’t stop. Yet he continues. And quite frankly I don’t have the funds to hire an attorney at this time. His local authorities have even been contacted but won’t really do anything unless he’s a jaded ex-lover. NOT!!!

The names he called me…Big deal. When he brought my wife and daughter into this he went too far. Ignoring him doesn’t work. Banning email addresses doesn’t work. Banning IP’s doesn’t work. I’m just glad he lives in Indiana.

Sorry if you are offended Robin but people need to know exactly what this person is capable of. And to steer clear of his flattering words.

Mike, I happen to agree with Robin here. Why bother creating an environment where two men can discuss their theological differences amicably then destroy that goodwill by shredding another person?

If either of you guys have a better solution I’m all ears. Seriously. I’ve spent the last 18 months listening to quite a few people telling me that I just need to leave him alone. Just ignore him…He’ll go away. You’re responding to him will fuel his fire. Don’t throw your pearls before swine. etc. so on and so forth. And I had done just that to no avail.

He’s a broken record that just keeps on truckin. Second verse same as the first.

Both Jesus and the apostle Paul used the strongest language of their day when speaking of those that stood against them. Paul even said, “I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!”

Now I’m not asking you to ponder on that word picture…But some of the things Jesus and Paul said makes what Phil and I did look like Romper Room.

I do love you Mike! You are one of the sweetest most caring and genuine men I have ever known. I understand completely how frustrating this is – and anticipate that it will only grow as preterism becomes more known and prevalent. I have no suggestions other than what I have been saying for the last two years…the same thing I have to remind myself of every day – Galatians 5:22-23

Robin April 12, 2011 at 12:26 pm

The trap is that of responding in kind. Rising above his tactics is the only way to overcome the temptation to respond with a vengeful spirit. And Paul took the right course in how he went about fulfilling his wish for them to be cut off:

Gal 5:12 – I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Gal 5:13 – For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

And here too we see his true desire was that they become like him:

2 Cor 11:12 – But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

What he didn’t do was hire an attorney, but kept on trucking in doing right. And though he did mention names and warned of what they were doing, it only served as an example for him of what not to do. There is no one who has had an encounter with the likes of RodE who is unaware of the man’s lack of Christian character and faulty reasonings. So why belabor it?

The Antithesis hour I thought was supposed to be about elucidating the contradictions between the two views, not about the weather in Greece or gossiping about what so and so is up to.

For me this podcast hour was a waste of time. But I will continue to look forward to better things from you both in the future!

Sometimes you have to expose evil publicly.I have no problem with what you did Michael, im sure you tired every other avenue first.
I took that person off my list after i heard the show glad you warned me. Thank you.

Hi Wanda and Robin,

Thanks for the feedback!

I understand both of your complaints and I know that the two of you are fully aware of Rod’s public methods and tactics. I also know that neither of you approve of the things he does publicly. These are the things you see because they are public. That’s the public Roderick and as bad as that can be it’s nothing like the private Roderick. The private Roderick is even worse if that is possible and not everyone is aware of that Roderick. Mike and I are aware of that Roderick and so are many others.

You can disagree all you like but until you deal with the private Roderick and the lengths he goes to then you really can’t judge Mike and I for doing what we did on the program. While you didn’t like the contents of the program there are those who have been Edwards’s victim who have thanked us for what we did. While we can’t prevent him from harming us hopefully this podcast will serve as a reminder to those who think Roderick is some harmless blogger they can “interact” with to reconsider that and just leave him be.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Hi Phil,
I just hate to see him get more press for that mockery of a podcast he is doing with ROE under a similar name. The real antithesis he should be dealing with is that ROE doesn’t believe the gospel, which has little to do with his hyper-preterism and everything to do with his lack of faith. Its like listening to who is the greater apostate – as if there were ‘degrees’ one could hold to even though both deny Christ whether in word or deed. And Rod’s claim to holding to the orthodox views of eschatology matters not a wit, since if he hasn’t got Christ, he has nothing! And both of them have yet to prove that, which makes their whole conversation empty and void regardless of their ‘exegesis’.

What some men will do ‘in the name of Christ’ is a shame to us all. And I really don’t know that there is anything you can do about it, other than to live the life you have been given with as much integrity as God gives you strength for.
