they were dying to the Old Covenant which is claimed it hadn’t yet pessad away (until the destruction of Jerusalem). I have noticed this aspect of full preterism isn’t emphasized like it used to be. Dave quotes Romans 6:4-5 Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Keep reading and we find:Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. They were ALREADY alive! They were ALREADY dead to sin, which means they were ALREADY a new man . Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; They had already been hath he quickened together with him , so how could they be in the process of dying to the old man when the Scripture states otherwise?2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are pessad away; behold, all things are become new. Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Before AD70 they were already of the household of God . Yes, there was something (and IS still now) that the saints looked forward to, the resurrection of there bodies in the same way Jesus was resurrected in a glorified body. Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. :4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. How, in the full preterist view, were they glorified with Christ in AD70? Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Anyway, just some of my thoughts. :o)Sharon
