I know Don Preston, William Bell, David Curtis, Alan Bondar etc., but who is “Rivers of Eden”?
What is his name, where is he from, why is he hiding behind a made up nick name?
If I’m going to take him seriously, I need to attach a name to the voice and the view!
Why the secrecy?

Primarily work related security. Secondly…Because he’s been known by that name for a long time.

Like when I came onto the internet in 2000. Because of personal security I used an old friend given nickname. “Psychohmike.” And I became known as such as I continued to participate in the Preterist community. People still call me that today. Funny thing happened when I switched to using my real name. A number of people that had known me as Psychohmike met and got to know me personally. Then they made the connection sometimes months later.

I moved from Psychohmike to Michael J Loomis once I knew I was going to be soliciting financial support for the beginnings of Preterist Radio. I knew no one would think twice about a guy named Psychohmike…LoL.

Changing a name that people are familiar with ends up cutting people off. And I know that is part of the reason. Consistency.

I’m sure Rivers would be more than happy to tell you his name privately if you email him. He just can’t do it publicly because of work. However that doesn’t stop people from using his real name of Facebook. Most of us know his name. I just want to respect his work related privacy.

Now if Rivers would be trying to do what Don, William, David or myself are doing, he’d be foolish to try and do it with an early internet moniker.

Many people over the years including myself attempted to discredit Rivers by this same line of thinking. “If he can’t state his name publicly then we shouldn’t listen to him.”

That doesn’t change what he’s saying. I hear you though Randy.

Thanks for the feedback.

By nature, I am a social introvert and uncomfortable making myself the “center of attention”. As such, I “hid” behind “FrogGigger” as my web presence for a long time – not that I have anything to “hide”, but because I did not want to draw attention to myself – I wanted the “message” to be the center of attention and not the “personality” of Ric. Presently, I still do not publicly disclose my full name for privacy sake. On the few occasions that I engaged someone in an e-mail exchange, I had no problem providing my full name. The irony is that I “briefly” signed-up for a Facebook account only to discover that my “name” was already taken by over a dozen people – the “unique” spelling of the no “k” Ric was not as unique as I thought! In fact, I share the same “legal name” as one of the “prominent” men as listed above, so what distinguishes me from him? Well, the MESSAGE delivered, of course!
